Day 15 of Life - UPDATE

Little Sha is now receiving 2 cc of breastmilk every 2 hours. Little piglet! There is still no sign of infection, but he is still receiving his antibiotics, just in case. Other than that, not much is happening with the little one. They might give him another infusion of platelets tonight, as his platelets are still low. One of the thoughts now is that he might have a blood clot. They are going to do an abdominal ultrasound to see if this is the case, but it would explain his low platelet count. If he does have a blood clot, then they will give him a blood thinner to help get rid of it, but, we won't know more until the ultrasound has been done.

Pa didn't have a chance to hold Sha today, but Ma and Pa did spend some more quality time with the little one.

    Hi,
We are thinking of you regularly. This blog is great, since it is difficult to get updates while we are in Nfld. We are so happy to hear that baby Sha is doing so well. Hopefully, if Ma and Pa and Sha are up to it, we will visit when we are back "upalong". I'll be watching the blog regularly.

Thinking warm thoughts in your direction.

    Sha,
If you ask your Aunt Carolann she can show you a great picture of your Mom. This picture was taken when your Mom was a little girl. She was in the bath tub with two of her cousins.
Why bring this up? 1. It's always nice to look back at childhood. 2. I'm positive that as you grow your Mom and Dad will take similar, slightly embarrassing pictures of you and 3. I want you to know that bribery works if you have the right ammo.

I think it's amazing that when you get older you will be able to look back at all of these pictures of yourself!

    Keep on Truckin' little guy
